Happy Monday! This post is is inspired by Divya of EatTeachBlog. I read one of her recent posts and thought this would be a fun blog to write. Here are some things I'm currently loving.
Beverage of choice
So, I rarely get anything besides filtered water from Starbucks, but sometimes I have to cave...Currently, my favorite is a White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha with almond milk.
How To Get Away With Murder
My best friend started me on season three. I didn't honestly think I would like the show, but I'm hooked...Counting down the days until the new episode airs. I really need to start binge watching the first two seasons on Netflix. This show is so suspenseful!
Big Magic : Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert (Author of Eat Pray Love)
I'm doing my best to squeeze in some time to read. I either seem to read a whole book in a day or read a couple of pages a week. I started this book and I'm really enjoying it. It's been insightful and I like the author's honesty.
My glasses
I started wearing glasses when I was seven years old. In ninth grade, I just decided to stop wearing them. A few weeks ago, I got a pair of glasses with an updated prescription and have been wearing them since. The world is so much clearer now! LOL.
Natalie Perfume
This scent makes me so happy. I love the smell of the fragrance and for a little backstory...This perfume was created in honor of Natalie Wood, by her children. The actress, Barbara Stanwyck was known for her signature scent, gardenia. Natalie had been in a movie with her and was sent a bottle of the perfume. It became her scent as well. Fast forward to the present. Natalie's daughters wanted to honor their mother's memory and voila this spin on the perfume she wore was produced.
Beautiful : The Carole King Musical
I've been wanting to see this musical for a while and when I saw it was coming to Detroit, I just had to go! It was even better than I expected it to be. The cast was superb and I loved how it included the history of other music from that time period. My favorite era of music is the 60s and 70s!
Keith Urban's album, Ripcord
Lately I have the songs, The Fighter, Blue Ain't Your Color and Wasted Time from his album, stuck in my head.
Also, if you like Nicole Kidman or Keith Urban, then the video below, might make you smile.
Rules Don't Apply
I saw this movie a month ago, but it's still on my mind. It takes place in Hollywood in the late fifties and early sixties. A small town girl comes to California to work under contract for Howard Hughes. Warren Beatty wrote, produced, and directed the movie, as well as played the main character, Mr. Hughes. I'm looking forward to watching the film again.
Garden Lite Chocolate Muffins
This is my favorite late night snack. They're made with zucchini and carrots and are quite healthy. They are dairy free, nut free and gluten free!
Desert Essence Natural Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads
I love these! They're vegan and have natural ingredients such as tea tree oil and witch hazel.
Flower Print Vera Bradley Tote Bag
I'm very picky about Vera Bradley prints. This flower print however, I really like. I got this as a Hanukkah present and it's perfect to use as an overnight bag.

ReplyDeleteI read about Rules Don't Apply in Vanity Fair recently and I can't wait to see it! It sounds so good and it's always a good sign if someone is still thinking about a film a month later
ReplyDeleteI love this post and the look of the muffins! I am loving my extended relaxing time off x
ReplyDeleteThis very second, I'm currently loving your tote bag! Those muffins look like an interesting way to have a guilt-free treat too, and Big Magic has been on my TBR for the longest!

ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your blogs!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever seen How to get away with murder, is it good? Well obviously it is if you put it on your list! I love peppermint mochas, yum! That vera bradley bag is so cute! It would totally match all of my 70s inspired clothes!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a blog post sharing the things that you are enjoying this month. That Carol King musical sounds like fun and it's cool that it came to town.
ReplyDeleteYum I hasn't seen that mocha in Starbucks but it sound delicious. xx
ReplyDeleteWe aren't big on Starbucks in our family either except as a treat. We were blessed with a bunch of gift cards though and have been taking advantage of them from time to time. My favorite drink to order is just a regular coffee with hazelnut and cream. Makes it pretty close to my favorite, french vanilla creamer. We love brewing our coffee at home in our Keurig.
ReplyDeleteLove your selections for January. I've had drink at Starbuck's, super delicious. Viola Davis is great in that series, you should watch Season 1 and 2 as well. For the others, like them as well. Hmm, loving my new journal, it's great for keeping track of things...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I was just talking to a friend how I didn't have the peppermint mocha last year... and i saw that beautiful picture, I need to have one before it disappears. - AMER

ReplyDeleteBig Magic is an awesome book. A great read worth re-reading. I've heard nothing but great things about How To Get Away with Murder.
ReplyDeleteI love Starbucks the have the best coffee albeit quite expensive. Those chocolate cupcakes looks great. I am going try to get my one year old to eat them.

ReplyDeleteThese are some great things to be loving so far! I've been wanting to read Big Magic for ages, I need to get on that! Love your glasses as well!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about that book! I need to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to see Rules Don't Apply, and before I could get there, it was gone from the theaters! Guess I'll have to wait for Redbox or the library to get the DVD. We are also addicted to HTGAWM. Can't wait for the new season! While it is compelling, it can also be a bit ridiculous: how many law students get to work on real murder trials, prepping witnesses, no less? But if you take it as just a fun soap opera type of show, it's a winner!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Rules Don't Apply! I like that most of the things that you're loving is all about what entertainment and culture.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Rules Don't Apply! Very cool post!!
